this feels like your image has been cut out of something and placed on a background - it seems disconnected from the surroundings - the focus is so strong on the figure - is this an effect of high shutter speed or ???

very well played to the camera - you are so lucky to have such a great model always at hand :>)

No, that's an effect of DOF. It's set at 2.8, so it's very shallow. Since I wasn't standing next to anything, I'm the only thing in focus. :)
